Message from the Dean

The University of Guyana (UG) welcomes you to our School of Graduate Studies and Research. At UG we want to optimize your career professional development with a high level of competence in different Thematic Areas offered by each of our Academic Units. We also offer the development of a scientific career doing research projects with our researchers to generate basic and applied information needed by the Government Public Sector, Private Sector, NGOs and Communities of Guyana. We welcome international students as we participate in inter institutional projects developed through an integration with academic networks with other Higher Education Institutions of the Guiana Shield Region , the Amazon Basin, the Caribbean and the World.

The UGSGSR’s vision is to be a regional leader characterized by excellence in graduate programmes and research. We are committed to producing distinguished professionals who are ‘fit for purpose’ in knowledge, skills, innovation, creativity, and service.

Mission

The UGSGSR strives to promote graduate education, develop, and implement quality standards in leading the tactical graduate planning activities of the University of Guyana, in addition to offering support and services to students and staff, with a view to creating an academic and professional environment that will guarantee the personal success of our students.
